A female clerk in a Waipukurau office received a telephone call at her home at about five o'clock one morning recently stating that the manager had., locked his keys in the office. As he wished to go out of town very early, would site meet him at the office right away? Clad only rj hetnight attire and an overcoat, she cycled to the office and waited for half-an-hour without the manager making any appearance. Then it dawned on her that the day was April 1, and that someone had made her the victim of a heartless practical joke.
