FEILDING, April 8. An all-round improvemnt in the quality of sheep was obvious to-day at the Feilding yards. The yarding of store lambs was of moderate proportions, but the quality was better than for some time. Breeding ewes were in limited supply, but these pens showed a considerable improvement in quality. Fat sheep were offered in fair numbers and sold well. The autumn cattle fair was held in conjunction with the sheep sale, the entry being little short of advertised numbers. Practically all the stock showed the effects of the shortage of feed, condition generally being backward, except in the case of some very well-grown yearlings. Shorthorn and Polled Angus stock predominated and the bulk of the stock was female lines.
