ROYALTIES AT ODDS
PRINCE BERNHARD & QUEEN
OF HOLLAND SERENITY OF COURT SAID TO BE DISTURBED. OLD AND NEWER IDEAS. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Copyright. LONDON, April 7. Minor differences are reported to have arisen between Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Bernhard, whose lightness of manner and modernity have seemingly disturbed the serenity of the Dutch Court, says the “Daily Mail’s” correspondent at The Hague.
Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard were brought up differently, and the fact that Princess Juliana follows many of her husband's ideas does not please the Queen, resulting in open differences, notably on the question of Sunday observance. The Queen has vainly tried to prevent Juliana and Bernhard from boating and other sports on Sundays.
Meanwhile a doctor has ordered Prince Bernhard a sunshine tour, and he is now cruising off the south coast of Italy.
