STRIKES IN SEVENTEEN FACTORIES
Rearmament Work Crippled M. BLUM’S DOWNFALL INEVITABLE. (Recd This Day, 9.35 a.m.) PARIS, April 7. Rearmament work, especially aircraft, is almost at a standstill as a result of strikes in seventeen factories. No work is being carried out in the Messier Factory, which holds a monopoly of the supply of essential aeroplane parts, and for that reason no machines from other works are beling delivered to the Government. France is on the brink of a most serious Government crisis. It is by no means certain that a National Ministry will follow M. Blums unavoidable downfall on April 8, which will mean a continuation of restiveness when a strong Government is most needed.
