The Memorial Lawn Tennis Club’s competitions for the. current season have now been completed, the finals winners being as follow: —■ Men’s championship singles (Burridge Cup): Maxwell beat Person, 6/3, 7/5, 6/4. Men’s championship singles “B" grade: Sievers 4 beat Roache, 6/3, 7/5, 6/1. Ladies’ championship singles (Hughes Cup): .Miss R. G. Bradley beat Miss P. Kilmister, 6/5, 6/2. Ladies’ championship singles “B" grade: Miss L. Armstrong beat Miss U. Holtham, 6/3, 5/6, 6/3. Ladies’ championship doubles: Misses Bradley and Cohen beat Mesdames Hunn and Connolly, 5/6, 6/1, 6/2. Ladies’ handicap doubles: Misses Dixon and Wickens (scr.) beat Mesdames Hunn and Connolly (8), 62/60. Ladies’ handicap singles: Mrs N. Connolly (7) beat Miss N. Cohen (scr.), 60/58. Men's handicap singles: Maxwell (5) beat Marsack (5), 60/50. Men's handicap doubles: Holdgate and Smith (2) beat Maxwell and Marsack (5), 60/52.
Men's championship doubles: Person and Kennedy beat Jones and Carrig, 6/2. 6/4, 6/3. Combined handicap doubles: Wylie and Miss Cohen (5) beat Duff and Miss P. Andrews (16), 60/58. Combined championship Roubles (Mills Cup): Maxwell and Miss Bradley beat Kennedy and Mrs Hurley. 7/9, 6/2. 6''3.
It is proposed to hold a social evening and dance in the Savage Club Rooms on Wednesday, April 13, when the prize winners will be presented with their trophies.
