The Executive Council of the Amalgamated Engineering Union has issued a manifesto to members appealing to them to work voluntary overtime and provide goods for immediate dispatch to Spain. The manifesto adds: “We call on you to give up some of your leisure. Spanish workers will not be the last to be attacked; we too must look to the future.” MODERATION URGED. REPRESENTATIONS MADE BY BRITAIN. (Recd This Day, 9.20. a.m.) LONDON, April 6. The British Government has asked both sides in Spain to show toleration to political prisoners and hostages on the Catalan front.
