Soccer —First Division: Liverpool beat Birmingham, 3 to 2; Manchester City beat Charlton, 5 to 3. Scottish Cup—semi-final replay, East Fife v St Bernard’s, resulted in a draw, with one goal each, after extra time. Rugby League: Featherstone lost to Newcastle, 4 to 6. MASTERTON SENIOR TEAM. The Masterton senior team to play Carterton on the Memorial Park at 2.30 o’clock on Saturday will be: Dickenson, Mason, Goodhue, Grey, Osborne, Lenoze, Gardiner, Barnett, Neiri, Hargood, Morris, O’Brien, Long,Crookenden, Welch (2), Percy, Wickens, Ford, McCalmont, Welch, C. Goodhue. All players are to be on the ground at 2 o’clock sharp. OLD BOYS v. GLADSTONE. A practice game has been arranged between Gladstone and Old Boys, to be played at Gladstone on Saturday. As this is a trial game, all players will be given a game.
