DANGEROUS DRIVING

WOMAN FINED AND LICENCE CANCELLED. WANGANUI, April 4. Charged in the Magistrate’s Court, Wanganui, today with dangerous driving and with overtaking another vehicle and passing into line without a clearance of 18 feet, Alice Isobel Conway was fined £5 and her licence was ordered to be cancelled for six months. The case was heard before Mr J. H. Salmon, S.M. On the second charge defendant was ordered to pay costs.

Senior-Sergeant L. R. Capp, who prosecuted, said defendant drove in an erratic manner when passing a car. The other vehicle had to pull further over to the left and an elderly woman who was thrown out received a broken collarbone. Excessive speed was also alleged.
