Tree-Planting.

Over 15.000 trees are to be distributed for planting this year by the Wellington Beautifying Society. Reporting at last night's meeting of the society, Mr R. L. Macalister said that the trees had been grown at the nursery, which had been established 18 months ago. It was hoped to increase the output next year. If this could be maintained, it would not be long before all bare hillsides could be covered with attractive trees, and one of the objects of the society—to make the public tree-minded —achieved. The total number of trees available was 15,545, of which 6104 were pohutukawa and 1700 koromiko.
