MARTINBOROUGH.
MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. INTERESTING SEASON EXPECTED. (“Times-Age” Special). The first shoot of the 1938 season was held last evening in the old town hall when a large number of members and intending members attended.
The season promises to be an enthusiastic and interesting one. TENNIS.
Much interest is being shown in the final games of the club tournament which are to be played off today. In the men’s singles G. McLeod will play M. Gair. In the men’s intermediate singles E. Chote will meet A. McCardle. The ladies’ singles (intermediate) will be contested by Miss Pryor and Miss Harvey. Miss Jury and Evans and Mrs McMaster and Hardie will meet in the combined doubles. PERSONAL. Miss Bower, of Napier, is the guest of Mr and Mrs R. A. Mitchell for a fortnight. Mrs Nelson Bramley, of Tangaioa, Poverty Bay, has been spending a few days with her father, Mr W. A. lorns.
Miss D. Willett, of Invercargill, who returned recently from an extended visit to Melbourne and Sydney, is at presenting visiting Masterton.
