SWIMMING CLUB (“Times-Age” Special.) PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. ■'■ '■ • •' (Times-Age Special.) -•At a very enjoyable dance held in the Odd Fellows’ Hall on Thursday night, the president of the club, Dr. E. M. Simers, in an appropriate speech, thanked all connected with the club-for their untiring work during the season. He said it would be very difficult to single out anyone for special thanks, because all had worked hard and harmoniously throughout, and had gave of their best to their respective tasks. He also thanked the donors of the very fine array of trophies which were on view. The club had been very fortunate indeed in this direction in not having to beg for trophies, all had been donated voluntarily, which showed that fine public-spirited citizens resided in our midst.

Mr. W. Simpson then presented the trophies won during the season as follows: —

Primary schoolgirls championship: Silver medal donated by Mrs. W. Anderson and Herbert Smith Trust Cup, to Dulcie Boustead.

Primary schoolboys’ championship: Silver medal donated by Mr. Henderson, to Don McLellan.

Learner diver (boy): Silver- medal donated by Mrs. W. Curry, to Keith Doney. Learner diver (girl): Silver medal donated by Mrs. A. E. Dillon, to Dulcie Boustead.

Most improved boy learner: “Lady Ina” Cup presented by Mr. A. Southey, to Don McLellan. Most improved girl learner: Silver medal donated by Mr. R. Gallagher, to Pat McNab.

Boys’ aggregate: “Walsh Cup,” presented by Mr. T. Walsh (Pahiatua), to Des. Goggin. Boys’ aggregate diving: “Manser Cup,” presented by-Mr. W. J. Manser, to Mac. Fraser. '

Girls’ aggregate: “Annie Brentnal Cup,” presented by Mr. A. E. Brentnail, to Sybil Walton.

Ladies’ aggregate: “Southey Cup,” presented by Mrs. A. Southey, to Miss M. Boustead.

Men’s aggregate: “Cecil Kebbell Cup,” presented by Mr. Cecil Kebbell, to J. A. Foster.

Men’s diving aggregate: “Goggin Cup,” presented by Mr. F. M. Goggin, to C. McNjb. At the conclusion of the presentation ceremony hearty cheers were accorded the donors of the trophies, the Mayor and the President.

The music was supplied by Miss V. Edge and Mr. D. Thompson. Mrs. J. Holdgson and Mr. N. Liardet contributed much appreciated extras. The duties of M.C. were very capably carried out by Mr. W. J. Henderson.

A very appetising supper was handed round by club members ar/d done full justice to by all, after which dancing was resumed and continued until the early hours.
