NO ABSOLUTE MAJORITY. DEFEAT OF WAFD CERTAIN. (Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 1. The “Times” Cairo correspondent says that with only two out of 110 constituencies outstanding, the results are: — Government 43 Saadists 22 Independents 24 Wafdists 4 A second ballot will be necessary in thirteen constituencies owing to lack of an absolute majority or through a technical flaw. It does not necessarily follow that a similar debacle will occur in Lower Egypt but the final defeat of the Wafd is certain.
