GLADSTONE FOOTBALL CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. BRIGHT PROSPECTS FOR SEASON. The annual meeting of the Gladstone Football Club was held in the Gladstone Hall on Tuesday. Mr J. Cooper presided over one of me largest and most enthusiastic football meetings held in the district for manj years. It was decided to enter a team in the senior competition. Mr J. Walker was elected coach. With the playing material available, and with practice, the club should have a strong team. Mr W. Jackson was elected a life member of the-club, several members expressing appreciation of the generous support given to the club by Mr Jackson. Motions of sympathy were passed to Mr D. Thompson and Mrs Goodwin. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr E. B. Booth; president, Mr J. Cooper; secretary, Mr A. Hart; treasurer,*Mr J. Stead; vicepresidents, Messrs F. Joblin, J. K. Strang, R. Gray, J. Rennal, E. and N. Foreman, A. Smith, G. Cave,_ J. W. Buchanan, W. and L. Pike, A. Wardell, Miss Strang, Messrs J. Ogilvy, A. Wyeth, P. Cooper, N. McKay, J. Cooper, Mrs E. Cooper, D. McGregor, C. Matson, J. Savage, I. Sexton, F. Foreman, G. Henderson, H. Henderson, M. McKellar, D. Cameron, J. Mitchel, W. Tahana, E. White, D. Cooper, A. E. Booth, W. H. Booth, J.. Booth, A. Ross, J. Baird, J. Reid, J. Griffiths, D. Thompson; auditor, Mr C. Matson; delegates to the Rugby Union, Messrs E. B. Booth, E. Mason, F. Booth. It was decided to invite the Miramar Club to play a match at Gladstone on Easter Saturday and be the guests at a dance in the evening. The secretary was instructed to prepare a statement for the delegates to the Rugby Union.

Hearty votes of thanks were extended to all retiring officers and to those who had assisted the club during the year. The retiring secretary (Mr R. Nunn) was accorded a hearty vote of thanks and appreciation for his services.

Mr H. Johns was elected a playing member of the club. It was decided to hold a practice on the Gladstone ground to-morrow at 2.30 p.m.
