CHIANG KAI-SHEK
IN AIR BATTLE. NARROW ESCAPE. HANKOW. March 31. It is revealed that General Chiang Kai-Shek yesterday narrowly escaped death in an air battle when he visited the Tintsin-Nanking railway front.
He was flying to Suchow, escorted by fourteen Chinese planes, which twenty-four Japanese fighter attacked. According to a Chinese report, five Japanese and two Chinese planes were shot down.
