The indications are for moderate north-sast to north winds freshening. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, but increasing haze and cloudiness. The conditions will be warm. The barometer has a falling tendency. Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Barograph, 30.38; shade temperature, maximum, 78.4; minimum, 55.5; terrestial, 55.9; sunshine, 9 hours 40 minutes; rain, 1 point. SOLWAY RAINFALL. FIGURES FOR MARCH. Mr. H. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured on 9 days in March. The maximum fall was 63 points on the 22nd, the minimum 2 points on the Bth and 20th. The total for the month was 151 points as against 113 points in 1937; 227 points in 1936; 117 points in 1935; 132 points in 1934, and 214 points in 1933. The average for 35 years was 2.63 inches. The total rain measured for the past three months was 11.13 inches, as compared with 8.55 points in 1937; 17.13 points in 1936; 5.77 points in 1935; 10.00 points in 1934, and 6.02 points in 1933. The average for 35 years is 8.30 inches.
