EVENTIDE.
"Pis sweet at eventide To wander 'neath the trees, Down by the riverside, Fann'd by the gentle breezeWhen the golden sunlight Is fading from our eyes, And the shades of twilight . Steal o'er the eastern skies. The tuneful nightingale, With notes so sweetly clear; Sends music through the vale, ; So pleasing to the ear. The gently rustling leaves, The water's rippling flow, A mystic music weaves, Entrancing, soft, and low. The world is reposing, Tired of busy day, Labour's eyes are closing With the sun's fading ray.; 3n the sheen of moonlight Soft slumber seems to reign:; But to-morrow's sunlight Shall wake the world again.
