TO CORRESPONDENTS.

B. E. E.—The Provincial Valielation Act makes all laws passed during the late Session, of the Provincial Council legal for one year. You arc not correct in supposing that it requires a Proclamation to bring the Eelicing Act in operation in your district. Such a clause was inserted in the Act (No. 13) passed in the first Session of the Provincial Council—but the Act as passed last year contains no such provision. The Act, therefore, as assented to is iufull force throughout the Province. W. P. K.—Although .we are always glad to hear from yon, yet your lines'on matrimonial advertisements are not such as would suit the taste of our readers, and wc must decline to give them insertion. B. It.—Before we give insertion to your letter, you must forward, your name, not for publicity, but as a guarantee of good faith. THE SUMMED. The summer time is coming, With its bright and sunny hours, And bees are softly humming, Amid the fragrant flowers. The sun beams brightly ever, The prospect far and near, And he no clouds dissever On the streamlet rolling near. Then welcome this glad season, With its sunshine and its fruit, While we enjoy in season, Each out-of-door pursuit. Let thankfulness and gladness Be lelt, and understood. Why should our hearts feel sadness, While ail around is good 2 E.T. Greytown, Dec. 10,1557.
