CRICKET.
(To the Editor of the Waibabapa Mebcuby.) December 11th, 1867. Sib, —Having noticed in your issue of the 30th ult., of the return match between the Featherstoa and Greytown Cricketers," which was to come off on Wednesday, the third of this month. May I ask why there is not a Cricket Club in Masterton and Carterton? Is it because there is not a [sufficient number to form one 1 No, it is because no one takes an interest in this noble and manly game. Ahout two years ago clubs were formed in both these places, but they did not last long ; whether it was on the part of the secretaries or the non-attendance of the other members I cannot say, but it fell to the ground and has not been thought of since. Now as the fine weather and holidays are coming On I hope that some one will take an interest in the matter. I remain, Sir, A Would-be-Mehbeb.
