"Sultan” is a pure bred high caste Nedgid Arab, stands 14 hands 2in. high, seven-year-old, perfect in figure, and of immense power, is a beautiful grey with dark points, and was imported at great expense from Arabia via Calcutta and Nelson, and though he. in common with all others of his high caste, stands what may be considered low in this country, his Stock in Nelson are large and are much admired. Owners may depend on every care being bestowed on their Mares, and that nothing shall be wanting on the part of the owner to effect the object in view. Featherstok. — On Mondays at Abbott’s Hotel. TO STAND THIS SEASON. mi The Thorough-bred Entire Horse “ FERGUS,” TS 7 ILL stand for this season at the Hutt, and Y Y adjacent country districts. Fergus is ?, dark chestnut—stands 16 hands —first-class action —plenty of bone and muscle. His dam was got by the celebrated horse Wanderer, of New South Wales; he was got by Sir Hercules. Sir Hercules, sire of Cossack, Zee, Wetsail, Phoebe, and numerous other winners, by the imported horse Cap-a-pie out of the imported mare Paraguay; Cap-a-pie by the Colonel, dam (sister to Cactus) out of the Duchess of York, by Waxy. Paraguay (who ran second for the Oaks, ?,ud won the Newmarket Town Plate and Nursery Stakes) by Sir Hercules out of ICradigm, "by Partisan. Sir Hercules by Whalebone out of Peri, by II andercr. The Colonel (who ran a dead heat for the Derby, and won the St. Leger) by Whisker, dam by Delphini, cut of Tipple Cider by lung Fergus; vide Stud Book. Fergus wen the firs! -class prizes at the Camara Pastoral and Agricultural Shows of 18G3 and 1 SC-1, and in 1866 at Waikouaiti. Fergus will travel as follows: The Lower Hutt, eve y second Monday; Upper Hutt, on Tuesday; Hodder-s, on Wednesday .• Fealherstcn, on Thursday; Greytown, on Friday ; Masterton, on Saturday and Monday, and will then return to Greytown, on Tuesday ; Featherston, on Wednesday; Hodtier’s, on Thursday; Upper Hutt,'on Friday; Lower Hutt, on Saturday and Monday.
