TO CORRESPONDENTS.
Tf.B. —Like most reports the one you refer to hac Just sufficient foundation to render it feasible. We can now state, however, on the best authority that there is no intention on the part of the editor of this Journal to vacate his present chair. J. H. (Contractor) —You blame us for not in setting the advertisement relative to the Tenders for the Featherston Post and Telegraph Cflice. Had we received instructions it would have appeared ; but the Government will not pay for advertisements unless we produce an authority. Why an advertisement affecting a district in which, natnraUy, the local newspaper has the largest circulation should only appear in the Wellington press is a matter of mystery to us. But, perhaps, the Architect has a reason for it.
P. ■?.—You ask when will Sir G.'Grey’s time expire. We already learn that a new Governor is to be appointed, but we expect to hear more by the next mail from home. Telegraph —You will see that Mr. Borlase has moved for the correspondence and obtained it. We hope to be able to publish it in an early issue.
