THE DAIRY INDUSTRY.
STOCK MAKING A GREAT RECOVERY.
The present brightness of the country between Wellington and New Plymouth is reflected in the bearing of dairymen ail along the line. The long spell of dry weather which held into the beginning of the spring cast a shadow over the dairy industry, but cattle are now making a splendid recovery, as a result of the recent rains. All through the Manawatu, and right up to Taranaki grass is now making rapid growth, and the countryside, which a few weeks ago was brown and parched, is clothed in green. During the past few days many of the streams and rivers have been carrying a considerable volume of flood water.
