Mr H. J. Greenslade delivers a political address in the Town Hall to-night.
Owing to unfavourable weather conditions the management of the Rudge Cycling Club has deciden to postpone the first race of the season until Saturday, 25th inst.
We understand that a hundred acres of Mr McGovern's Greenmeadow Estate, has been sold by Mr R. G. Blennerhassett to an Auckland investor, who intends to immediately subdivide it into suburban sections. This property is most suitable for the purpose, as it is close to the station and the land is all a beautiful grassy slope lying to the sun, making" ideal building sites. f There is a good deal of enthusiasm shown for the proposed Parish Hall. The sum of £ll was banked yesterday, and most of our prominent citizens have promised substantial support. With the proceeds from the forthcoming bazaar, to be held on election day, there should be at least £l5O to make a start with the building.
The pegging off of the telephone lines to Wharepuhunga, Pukeatua and Korokanui has been completed, and it is hoped it will not be long before these outlying districts will be in telephonic and telegraphic communication with Te Awamutu. Pokurn is moving in the matter of the establishment of telephone facilities so that ere long the outlying districts surrounding Te Awamutu will be served as they should be.
