KIHIKIHI TOWN BOARD.
At the monthly meeting of the above Board, held on Wednesday, there were present: —Messrs J. G. Elmsly, Mackinder, C. Thomson, and F. Smith. The removal and re-erection of the Town Hall fence was left in the hands of Mr F. I\, Moody, who was authorised tc? procure gate and gate posts. In. regard to the utilization of the serves of Inspector Bennett as Inspector of Nuisances, a letter was read from the Health Department, agreeing to accept the £5 per annum suggested by the Board as remuneration for his services.
A letter was read from Mr Day complaining of damage to his property from surface water. The Board agreed to take steps to prevent further damage. It was decided to m ike an inspection of the water-table in Galloway Street, near to Mr Grace’s property; and at the same time to invesfigate the necessity for repairs in Bryce Street.. The question of the lighting of the Town Hall was given considerable consideration, and it was decided to instal an acetylene gas plant. Payments were passed as follows: —Debenture and coupons, £3O lOS ; Waipa Post 'Publishing Co;, £1 17s 9d; Health Department, £l ss; John Verner, 16s 6d.
