The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report: — PIO PIO. At Pio Pio on Tuesday, 19th inst, yearling steers made £2 19s to £3 2s 6d, mixed yearlings £2 15s, yearling heifers £2 17s, dairy cows £6 to £7, store cows £3 2s 6d. HAMILTON. At Hamilton on Thursday, the 2lst inst, we penned 415 sheep and 250 head of cattle, a large number being springing heifers ; also 70 pigs. There was a good competition, and a total clearance effected at most satisfactory prices. Fat cows £7 10s to £8 ss, heifers £6 10s to £6 15s, cows in forward condition £4 7s 6d to £5, store cows £3 to £3 2s 6d, yearling steers £2 19s to £3 4s, year old steers £4 14s, mixed yearlings in low condition £l 19s to £2 4s, 2 year old empty heifers £4, dairy cows at profit £6 7s 6d to £7 17s 6d,'springing heifers £7 to £8 I2s 6d, do. more backward £5 to £6,"fat wethers £l Is 6d to £1 ss, fat ewes 17s 2d to 19s, fat hoggets 163 to 17s 6d, f.m. ewes and lambs 10s id, store pigs £1 7s to £1 lbs, slips 14s 6d to 15s 6d, weaners I is 6d to I2s 6d. N GARUAWAHI A. At Ngaruawahia on Friday we had a medium yarding of cattle, which were all taken by buyers at following prices : —Fat steers *£lo to £lO I os, fat cows £6 Iss to £8 15s, 2P2 to 3 year steers £5 3s, 2 year steers £4 to £4 2s, yearlings £2 8s to £2 19s, store cows (empty) £3.ios to £4 2s 6d, yearking heifers £3 to £3 4s, springing heifers £6 2s 6d to £7, dairy cows £6 15s to £8 10s, backward heifers £4 I2s 6d to £4 17s 6d, pigs (slips) 14s. A lease of a section vested in the Ngaruawahia library committee, containing 25 perches, realised £4l per annum for a term of 14 years.
