TENNIS.

A conference of delegates from the various Waikato Tennis Clubs was held at Hamilton on Wednesday afternoon, when the proposed Waikato Association was considered. The following delegates were precent: —Messrs Henderson, Frankton ; Pearson, St. Andrews; McCarthy and Isherwood, Cambridge and Leamington ; Fox Hamilton and Te Aroha ; Fabling Hamilton; Marsden, Taupiri; Turbott Trinity, Ngaruawahia and Huntiy ; Empson and Cox, Te Awamutu. The Kawhia, Otorohanga and Paterangi Clubs favoured the proposal, while Taumarunui, Te Kuifci and Raglan were not in favour of the proposal. Mr McCarthy presided.

Several delegates spoke of the desirability of forming the Association, and considered that the Metripolitar. Association had done very little to foster the game in the Waikato. It was unanimously decided to form an Association to be called the Waikato Tennis Association, and to affiliate direct with the New Zealand Association. It was decided to send the suggested boundaries to the New Zealand Association for approval. Mr Fabling was appointed secretary pro tern.
