CONCRETE BRIDGE OYER THE MANCAHOE STREAM, AT TE AWAMUTU.

As we go to press we receive word that the following tenders have been received by the Waipa County Council for the above bridge: — D. McLean and Sons, £547 (accepted) ;.W. Johns, £9BB. In connection with the above work, the Council have decided to raise no objection to the request of several residents to have a footbridge erected at an estimate cost of £4O. Of this amount several contributions have been promised, and the balance will be raised by public subscription. The engineer's estimate for the bridge was £525.

We give a final reminder of the Dance to be held in the Town Hall to-morrow evening (Wednesday) in connection with the Pride of Te Awamutu Lodge, No. 84, U.A.O.D.

TENDERS.
