PIRONGIA.
. (Own Correspondent.) The Pirgngia Hunt Club assembled on Wednesday afternoon, when a most enjoyable hunt was held. The % weather conditions were very 'favourable and the attendance was large. A number of representatives . from neighbouring clubs were present. The hounds were thrown off
at the racecourse, and although they worked well did not succeed in finding and hares. A move
was therefore made to Mr Len. Macky's farm. Two hares were put up from here, but after a very exciting run both eluded capture. The hounds were called in, and the , hunt moved to Mr.. Wm. Macky's paddocks but with no result. Eventually the hunt adjourned to the Library at Pirongia where afternoon tea.was served. ''Mr Wynn Srown, on behalf of the huntsmen thanked the Pirongia and Paterangi ladies for their hospitality, and after three hearty cheers the party dispersed. In spite of the scarcity of hares the hunt was very enjoyable to all present. The country is well adapted for this class of sport, and the huntsmen took full advantage of the many jumps, which lay in their track.
