BAND OF NOPE.
There was an excellent attendance last night in the Town Hall, when the monthly Band of Hope meeting v/as held. The Rev. J. A. Lamond presided, and during the evening gave an appropriate address on temperance. The following programme was submitted, the items being well rendered, and in nearly every case encored : Overture, Miss Kathleen Galbraith; motto, ten boys; recitation,'Olive Pellow; song, girls and boys ; motto song, 13 girls ; recitation, Miss Virgie Kimber; recitation, Miss Hermy Luks ; song, Miss Irene Andrew; recitation, Master Willie Groves ; recitation, Elsie Mandeno ; piano solo, Master Fritz Luks ; recitation, six girls; recitation Jean Irvine; song, boys and girls ; recitation, Ruby Hutt; scene from Uncle Tom's Cabin, 3 girls ; coon song, Topsy. At the close of the meeting, the Rev. W. Wooilass moved a hearty vote of thanks to the performers, and those who had trained the children, and announced that Miss Anderson Hughes would give the address at the next meeting, which will be held in August.
