PIRONGIA.

(Own Correspondent.)

Creamery matters were discussed on Friday evening by Mr W. Spragg. The proposal to close the Pirongia Factory aroused sufficient enthusiasm to warrant a large attendance. Considering that a supply from over 600 cows is assured, it was decided to keep the factory open, and Mr Spragg promised to erect two separators and a patent skim milk releaser for the forthcoming season, a larger creamery with better appliances will be provided. Settlers are confident that in a few years Pirongia will have a very large factory. On Saturday afternoon a clearing sale was held at Sindon’s. Very good prices resulted. Mr Sinden leaves for Kawhia on Wednesday, and his departure will be regretted by his many friends. Col. Allen Bell addressed the settlers on Saturday night, and in an eloquent address pointed out the benefits derived by home separation. It was stated that the system was rapidly being adopted by the settlers'throughout New Zealand and Australia. The district roads are in a very bad state, and it is hoped to see better provision made for next winter. Residents hope to see an early start with the new high-level bridge over the Waipa River. The old structure is most unsafe for traffic, and causes considerable inconvenience. With this work in hand and the extensions to the creamery, Pirongia should show a great. improvement,
