THE WAIPA BRIDGE.

REPORT OF COMMISSION

The report of the Commissioner, Mr W. A. Short, as regards the Waipa Bridge, at Pirongia, has come to hand. The Commissioner recommended that the Waipa County Council be empowered to build the bridge in accordance with the design as approved by the Public Works Department, and that the cost of the work, less the subsidy promised by the Government, be apportioned as follows:—Waipa County. £0 pei' cent of the cost, and the Counties of Raglan and Waitomo 30 per cent and 20 per cent respectively. "Each County is ordered to pay their own costs, with the exception of Kawhia County, which was cited by Raglan.
