For some weeks past various committees have been busily engaged in making preparation for the celebration of the Coronation of King George V., and as the result of their organisation fitting celebrations were held throughout the district. It was well that alternative programmes were drawn up, so that, in the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the festivities would not have to be abandoned. Unfortunately the weather was not all that could be desired, very heavy showers falling at intervals, and the greater part of the proceedings had to be conducted indoors.
