A WONDERFUL COW.

The following particulars have been published about a famous Dutch cow : —She is of the East Friesian breed. Was calved in 1901, and belongs to a farmer on the estate of Dr Oltmann, at Meierhof, near the village of Loga. It is claimed that she holds the record for production of milk and butter. After being dry for about six weeks and moderately foddered, she gave, from the day she calved (March 13th, 1907) to February 28th, 1908, 2285 gallons of milk, with 3,36 per cent of fat, representing Bs6lbs of butter. She was not a very big cow. On May nth, 1907, when leaying for pasture, she weighed just over Ilcwt, and on returning (November 10th, 1907. 73lbs heavier. At the end of autumn, 1910, this fcow i? was awarded the prize for production at the show of breeders of East Friesland.
