WEDDING BELLS.

A very pretty wedding of great local interest took place at St. Bride’s Church, Otorohanga at 2 o’clock on Thursday, May 18, the contracting parties being Mr Boddie, son of the Mayor of Te Kuiti, and Miss Willis second daughter of Mr J. Wiliis, grain merchant, of Otorohanga. The Rev. Wayne performed the ceremony. The weather was not favourable, it being one of the coldest and bleakest days experienced. The church was well filled with a large number of guests and well-wishers. The bride, who looked charming, was attired in soft white chiffon taffeta silk, with the yoke; and over sleeves of the bodice-\trim-med with silk insertion, which was also carried down the. skirt, giving a side panel effect. She had a charming innovation in the arrangement of her veil, wearing it draped away from her face over a coronet of orange blossoms. Instead of the customary bouquet she carried a prayer book with long ribbon streamers. Miss Boddie, the chief bridesmaid, was dressed in soft white silk, the bodice being made with a tucked bolero outlined with cream insertion. She wore a black velvet picture hat trimmed with j a

sequinned band, and long black feather, and carried a pretty bouquet of white chrysanthemums tied with long ribbon loops. Two little tots, the sister of the bride and niece of the bridegroom also attended as bridesmaids. They were dressed in little white silk Empire frocks and wore dainty tucked bonnets to match, and each carried baskets of white and -piatajiv flowers. The bridegroom \sos attended by Mr Fenton, of Te Kuiti, and Mr Willis gave the bride away. After the ceremony, the happy pair drove away amid showers of rice to the residence of the bride’s parents, where Mr and Mrs Willis had provided a sumptuous tea for their guests.
