AN ARGENTINE DECREASE. There was a great decrease in the exports of Argentina last year, comparing them with those of 1909, as shown by the official statistics now issued. This was mainly due to the deficiency in the grain crops, for there were large increases in exports of animal products as a whole. In dollars (gold) live animals in-

creased in value by 62,980; frozen beef, by 3,583,133; chilled beef, by. 721,935; frozen sheep, by 688, 521; tinned and otherwise prepared meat, by 2,886,326; and byproducts, by 312,507. The value of hides, salted and dried together, also increased while that of wool decreased by 1,074,052 dollars, the deficiency in quantity being 26,083 tons. The total value of animal products exported was 161,006,592 gold dollars, or 7,908,998 more than in 1909.
