AT a meeting of tho Council held in the Courthouse, Waipawa, on Friday, the 4th May, 1900, the followresolution was passed:— 1. That this Council borrow from the General Government the sum of £9OO, under the provisions of The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886, and its amendments, and of sub-section 3 of section 2 of the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899, for a period of 41 years, the interest and other charges on such loan to be at the rate of 3j per cent per annum, and that this Council make application for such loan accordingly. 2 That tho particular work for which the aforesaid loan of £9OO is to be raised shall bo the stumping, clearing and forming of 560 chains more or loss of tho Ohiweka road commencing at its junction with the Whetukura main road. 3. That for the purpose of providing for the interest upon the said loan a special annual recurring rate of two pence and one half-penny in the pound will be levied on the unimproved value of the ratable properties in the Waikopiro Special Rating District, consisting of Sections 1,2, 3, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, Block XV, Takapau S.D., payable on the first day of July in each year, during the currency of such loan, being a period of 41 years, or until the loan is fully paid off. 4. That the cost of raising such loan and tho interest for one year during the construction of the said road shall be paid out of loan. W. NICHOLSON, County Clerk.
