Waipawa Road Board.
A meeting of the above Board was held this afternoon, when Messrs Rathbone, senr., Rathbonb, McGreevy and Waldrom were present. The clerk read the declaration of the Returning Officer that the old members had been returned. Mr McGreevy was again elected chairman, and thanked the Board for the honour. The Board’s credit balance was £lO6 7s 7d. The action of the qhairman in authorising work at Richmond Park was approved, knd authority given him to cut a drain through property to let the water off the road.
Mr McGreevy presented a numerously signed petition that a footpath be formed from the boundary of the town to tho junction of the Patangata road, for the convenience of ratepayers walking to and from Waipawa. It was very favourably received, and a resolution carried that it be laid off, and the estimate of cost obtained for the completion of the work. That the amount be supplied to the Board and to the County Council for consideration, with the view of obtaining subsidy to help defray the cost. The clerk was instructed to write to metal contractor that seven days’ notice be given him to proceed with his work. Failing this the deposit to be forfeited. Resolved that the old members sign cheques as hitherto.
