The sun leaves Taurus and enters Gemini on the 21st of the month. Full moon on the 15th of the month. Mercury is a morning star in Pisces. Venus is an evening star throughout the month, setting in the west about 7 o’clock. This planet was in conjunction with the Moon on the 2nd of the month. Mars is an evening star in close neighbourhood to Mercury. Jupiter in Scorpio rises soon after sunset. The constellation named Scorpio is on account of its shape, one of the most easily identified. Saturn rises a little later than Jupiter and further to the south. Sirius sets at 10 p.m and Canopus, the next of the fixed stars to Sirius in order of brightness, sets an hour or so later.
