SAMOA.
(Per Press Association) Auckland, This day Samoan news to tbe 6'.h inst states that all is quiet. Parties'patrolliug the roads failed to find any trace of Mataafa's followers witbio the boundaries set by Admiral Kautz aud Captain Stuart. Naval officers were surprised at tbe strength of some of tbe forts which Mataafa had abandoned when agreeing to go beyond tbe boundary. Mataafa is reported as saying that had it not been for the orders isßned by bimaelf, that no white mou should be fired npon, several parties of bine jackets sent ont skirmishing, would have been completely wiped ont, as they were surrounded on more than one oocasion by the rebels. It is generally believed that Mataafa's followers will uphold tbe decision of tbe Commission, but will decline to recognise Tann, and if he is constituted King war will ultimately break ont again.
