Astronomy for the Month.
The sun eutors Gemini on tbe 21st of the month. Full moon on the 25th. Mercury is a morning star during tbe month and is in olose proximity to Venus. Venu*, rising shortly before sunrise, will be in conjunction with tho moon od tbe sth, Mars will be io conjunction on tbe 7tb. and Jupiter on tbo 23rd. (Two heavenly bodies are in conjunction when they are duo north at tho same time). Jupiter risos almost due east at sunset and now presents a fine appearance. Mars is in Cancer but is rapidly moving towards Leo.
Arcturus, a yellowish Btar of the first magnitude, rises a little further north than Japiter and about two hours later. This star stands fonrih in order of brightness, taking rank after Sirius, Oanopus, and Alpha Ceutauri (one of the Pointers of tbe Southern Cross.) Saturn rises about 9 o’clock.
