A company parade of the Waipawa Rifles was held on Taesdny evening, and despite the oold weather there was a fair attendance. Adjutant Hughes, of the E)St Coast Battalion, was present and inspected tbe men. The company, under Lieutenant Collett, was drawn up and received him with a general salute. Cap tain Rathbooe, tbe offioers and sergeants exercised the men in company drill and manual and firiog exercises. At tbe oon oloeion the Adjutant thanked, and warmly complimented the officers and men ou their excellent display and drill. The captain intimated that a churoh parade would bo held on Sunday next. The corps will fall in At the pnblio sohool at 10 a m., when headed by the brass band they will parade the town and maroh to St Peter’s oharoh. There will be no Gov eminent parade on Tuesday next, but the corps will muster at 830 am. sharp oo tho 24th inet for tho usaal birthday honours.
