Tho sun enters Gemini on the 21st of tho mouth Full moou on tho 25th. Mercury ia a morning star during the month aud is in close proximity to Venos. Venu j , rising shortly before 6unrlae, will bo in conjunction with the moon ou the sth, Mars will be in conjunction on the 7t.b, and Jupiter on tbo 23rd (Two heavorjly bodies arc io conjunction whon they are due north at tho same tiiD"). . Jupiter rises almost due east at sunset aud now presents a One appearance. Mars is in Cancer but is rapidly moving towards Loo.
Arcturue, a yellowish star of the first magnitude, rises a littlo further north than Jupiter and about two hours later. This star stands fourth ia order of brightness, taking rank after Sirius, Canopus, and Alpha Centnuri (one of the Pointers of the Southern Cross.) Saturn rises about 9 o’clock.
