HAMPDEN V. WAIPAWA. The return match between Waipaw; and Hampden was placed at Waipawa on Saturday last in a paddock kindly lent for the occasion by Mr Britten. Mr Craven was in charge of the Hampden team and Mr S. O'Connor for Waipawa. The captain of the Hampden team decided on -seudiug Waipawa to the wickets, -j'&bo innings closed for 86, the principal scorers being Messrs Bloomfield, Cook, Bod!e, and O’Connor, all of whom succeeded in getting into double figure with careful play. After lunch Waipawa took the held, and succeeded in getting rid of their opponents for 60 runs. The only double figures being Messrs Newton and Craven, with 13 each, the latter playing a very careful innings. Waipawa won by 26 rune. Appended are the scores Waipawa.
