Sir Charles is a beautiful bay horse, rising three years old, stands 17 hands high, possessing powerful bone and muscle, together with a very mild temper, and is thoroughly staunch and quiet in harness. Sir Charles was bred by the Hon. J, D, Orinond, and is out of Lady by Princo Charley (Canterbury) imported, out of Laddie by imp , out of au imported mare. Prince Charley has taken several first prizes in Canterbury, and is so wel) known that further comment is unnecessary. Sir Charles has taken two first prizes at the Hawke’s Bay A.P.S. As a two-year-old Ji* won the Champagne Stakes at Canterbui after whicli he was purchased by Mr St . for something about 1500 sovs. As three-year-old he carried off three Der —Canterbury, Wellington, and Dimed;■ At Canterbury he ran second for the C , weight for age, and on the following he easily won the Christchurch Plate. The service of Traducer is 100 guineas a mare, and this can scarcely be wondered at, seeing that during the last racing season his sons and daughters won stakes to the amount of £IO,OOO, Traducer was bred in England, and is by The Libel, dam Arethusa. The Libel was by Pantaloon, 'out of Pasquinade, sister to Touchstone.
