On Friday will leave for Waipawa and Kaikora, remaining at Kaikora Friday night, and retaining to Waipukurau on Saturday*. Lord Lorne was bred by John Mitchell, Esq., Ballyininack, Campbeltown ; he isbtf Sir Garibaldi ; dam, Jess, a Clydesdale mare, who for three years ixt succession was distinguished as a first prize taker at the Campbeltown Agricultural Society’s Shows; her darn alsq gained four first prizes in succession as a brood mare at the same society’s shows. Sir Garibaldi was awarded thp premium of £lO to serve in the Gaithouss of Keet District in 1856; in 1867, £3O for Carlisle; in 1858,.£40f0r Dumfennline 4 and he was afterwards sold to serve in ths Campbeltown Agricultural Society’s Disj trict; Sir Garibaldi is by Garibaldi, who gained the first prize as a three-year-old a£ the Perth Highland Society’s meeting in 1860. T Lord Lorne has, as a two-year old, distinguished himself as ap»ize taker, having taken first prize at Kirkintulloch Show;; third at the Glasgow Agricultural Show; third at the Highland Society’s Show at Kelso ; and first at the Deyinip Society’s Show. As a three-yeur-old (and shown soon after landing in New Zealand*) was second to Prince Charlie at the ChrismChurch- Show (the largest in the colony.)”. As a five-year-old, first piize at tlip Hawkes’ Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Show. Asa six-year-old, second at the Wanganui Show (being beaten only by the invincible Lofty, who was never beaten in a show ground), and last season, at Wanganui, second to Lofty, and first prize and champion at the llangitikeiManawatu Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Show. Lord Lorne is a beaubtiful dapplp bay, with black points, splendid action, fine bone, good mild temper'; possessing all the qualifications of a purp bred Clydesdale.
