SULIEMAN PASHA.

It appears that this general was not sown up in a sack and thrown into the Bosphorus after all, but he really was arrested at Gallipoli, and his trial is now going on. A London paper received by the mail says : The trial of Sulieman Pasha began at the Seraskierate on July 13. Samih Pasha presided over the court-martial, which is composed of three muchirs (marshals), Mu taplia, Dervish, and Nousrct Pasha, and three feriks (generals of division), Ali Nizami, Feizi, and Mehemet Pashas, aided by two military secretaries. At the opei ingof the court Sulieman was brought in wearing a muchir’s uniform, hilt without a sword. lie is described as looking un-coni-cined and quite :'.t ease, and as having replied to the questions of the President with perfect coolness and considerable skill. Although - the sittings will be held with closed doors, a Turkish journal is authorised to publish an' account of the proceedings. The first, document read was the letter in which Reonf Pasha, then Sera-vkier, demanded of the Premier, an order for his arrest, which, it will be remembered, was effected at Gallipoli. At length, therefore, Sulieman Pasha stands arraigned before the country on accusations as serious as have ever been brought against ;i general.
