Morrinsville Entertainment Society.
A meeting of the Morrinsville Entertainment Society was held in the library on Tuesday evening. There was a fair attendance of members. The president, Mr F. J. Marshall, presided. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £4 18s 4d, and the society have a new portable boiler as an asset. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the secretary, Mrs Seville, for her untiring efforts, in making the society such a succes. Thanks were also accorded the treasurer, Mr Brayshaw, and the officers and members of the committee. It was decided to continue the entertainments, the following officers were then elected:— President, Mr F. J. Marshall; vice-presidents, Messrs W. C. Pickett, G. Brayshaw, and W. J. Weekes; committee, Mesdames Marshall, Brayshaw, Miss Stewart and Mr J .C. R. Watts. Miss Stewart was elected secretary, Mr Brayshaw treasurer, and Mr Spargo auditor. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting. A meeting of the committee was then held, when it was decided to open the session with progressive euchre and a dance on the 3rd June, and to hold five evenings instead of four if possible. Session tickets to be five shillings. The admission to first evening was fixed at Is 6d for gents and Is for ladies.—Own Correspondent.
