False Pretences.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Last Night. A man who has been "wanted" since 1904 appeared before Mr W. A. Barton, S.M., to answer a charge of alleged false pretences. Accused was charged with having at Gisborne on May 11, 1904, with intent to defraud by a valueless cheque, drawn on the Bank of New South Wales, at Bulls,, obtained from one Edward Harris, of Gisborne, the sum of £4 16s. The case was adjourned till the Bth inst., on the application of the police.
