Y.M.C.A. for Waikato.
A meeting of the preliminary executive committee in connection with the proposed Waikato Y.M.C.A. was held in the Old Borough Chambers, Hamilton, last evenire-. The chair-
man apologised for the ui.i > liable absence of Messrs Bond, Younrr, Bell, and Wernham. The treasurer reported that the sum of £132 9s had been promised for the first year and £142 9s each for the second and third years. The outside donations only total £6 10s. In order to obtain the £250 a year for three years as required, it was decided to form three groups of canvassing committees as follows: 1. Messrs W. A. Graham, J. D. Mill, C. L. MacDiarmid; 2. Messrs J. A. Young, E. Northcroft, and W. Goodfellow; 3. Major Bell, Messrs J. Frear, and W. J. Wernham. The work is to commence at once and will terminate on the 18th inst. It was unanimously decided to add Messrs Duxfield, Swarbrick, McDiarmid, and Maxwell to the preliminary executive committee.
