At last night’s meeting of the Trades and Labour Council reference was made to the effect the operations of the Southern Fionr Trust would have on the pockets of the workers if the local mills were unable to keep pace with the competition. Mr W, Peake mentioned that largo quantities of Southern’Flour had been coming into Auckland, and stated that it was to their own interest for tho workers to stand by the local mills, but for which the price of flour would now bo considerably higher. Ho suggested that the matter should be brought before all the unions, asking them to support their local mills. The Chairman (Mr IT. W. Brookes) endorsed tho last speaker's remarks, remarking that it was a well-known fact that the Flour received from the Auckland Mill was good and that Bad Reports Had Been Received or the Southern Flour Placed on the Market, while the American Flour was Reported to pe Even 'Worse. Mr Derrick moved—“ That the Secretary bo instructed to write to the various unions, calling attention to the fac's, and asking them to support local manufacturers in preference to importations,” The motion was carried unanimously. TRB Champion flour is PRIME N.Z. Milling Wheat (NOT FOREIGN) AND Good Wages.
