NEW TURBINE STEAMER’S FINE RUN. Melbourne, October 7. The Union Company's tin bine steamer Loouguna occupied four days eight hours in her run from Fremantle to Melbourne. Her best day’s work was 410 miles. FIRE ON A SHIP. Sydney, October 7. Altogether 5000 drums of oil are on board the burning ship Mount Stewart, besides large consignments of paints, chemicals, whisky and other spirits. The vessel lies on a sandy bottom, with her stern well out of the water. Though the seat of the fire is to a great extent submerged, the burning oil and spirits are floating on the water. The tire is still blazing fiercely, and threatening the after part of the ship, and interfering with the firemen approaching to close enough quarters to cope with it. The Mount Stewart is filled with water, and has settled down. The fire, which is now extinguished, did not spread to the after part of the vessel. The ship is insured for £IB,OOO, and her cargo for between £45,000 and £60,000. October 8. The Mount Stewart has been pumped out and re«floated.
